Next Capital seeks out industries that exhibit above-average GDP growth throughout economic cycles and we focus on businesses that possess a sustained competitive advantage over the long term. Our interests span all industries other than real estate, early-stage financing and natural resources.
We are typically focused on businesses with an enterprise value of between A$50 million and A$200 million. This has been our focus since inception and allows us to target the segment of the market where we can add significant value.
We often invest in larger transactions that require more substantial funding and have proven financial partners who are available to help fund these transactions, as required. This flexibility allows us to pursue a wide range of investment opportunities while maintaining our focus on value creation.
Our focus is businesses with established roots in Australia and/or New Zealand though many have international expansion aspirations.
We have been successful in assisting our partners grow beyond these geographies and are recognised for our deep experience operating in Asian growth markets; whether it’s sourcing products, establishing manufacturing facilities, or facilitating market entry for Australasian branded products.
At Next Capital, we aim to deliver target returns to investors whilst creating positive environmental and social outcomes for the communities in which we operate and all our stakeholders. We achieve this by embedding ESG considerations into our end-to-end investment management process, including investment selection, post-acquisition management plans, exit strategies and reporting.
ESG is a team approach at Next Capital with Next Capital’s ESG Committee providing guidance to our investment team and the management teams of our portfolio companies on the approach to the identification and management of ESG risks and opportunities. We engage external ESG advisors as necessary to provide the necessary expertise and training to support a robust, relevant and well-informed investment process on ESG.
By embedding ESG into the ongoing operations of our portfolio companies we will contribute to the execution of our investment strategy to build businesses with strong foundations for growth over the long term.

Travvia
In August 2022 Next completed an investment in Travvia (previously JUCY Group). Travvia is a leading operator of tourism focused campervan, motorhome and car rental products across Australia and New Zealand, providing ~2500 vehicles across 10 locations. Following Next’s investment, Travvia acquired the Star RV business the merged THL/Apollo group, making the combined JUCY/Star business Australasia’s second largest operator of mobile accommodation assets.
Enviropacific
Next Capital invested in a controlling stake in Enviropacific Solutions in February 2021, partnering with existing shareholders and management. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Sydney, Enviropacific is a market leading environment remediation specialist. The business offers tailored engineering and applied science solutions for the prevention and treatment of solid and liquid contamination in Australia. Enviropacific also operates its own hazardous waste treatment facility, branded Solve, located in Melbourne, offering thermal desorption technology to treat hazardous waste.
Eptec
In July 2020 Next Capital acquired a controlling stake in Eptec Group, a specialist contractor providing asset preservation, life extension and maintenance services to the Australian defence sector and broader critical infrastructure assets. Its services include corrosion protection, concrete rehabilitation, waterproofing, insulation and lagging. Eptec holds a market leading position providing services to a range of government agencies and blue-chip prime contractors. The Company has built a strong reputation for consistent on-time delivery of technically complex solutions under challenging operating conditions.
TMX
Next Capital partnered with the existing management of TM Insight, led by Travis Erridge and Milan Andjelkovic in January 2020 and acquired the Xact supply chain consulting business in late 2020, to become TMX Transform. TMX is now a global premier provider of fully integrated advisory services in supply chain, property and project management. The business partners with clients, ranging from SMEs to Australian and Global majors, to assist all facets of supply chain renewal and implementation. The business currently has offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, London, Cincinnati and Singapore.
Silver Chef
Next Capital acquired the Silver Chef hospitality business in November 2019. Silver Chef is Australia’s largest hospitality equipment leasing business, providing specialist commercial equipment rental and financing solutions to small and medium sized businesses. The business also has launched into Canada (through the acquisition of Econolease) and New Zealand to become a global leader in hospitality leasing services.
In September 2024 Next Capital acquired a controlling stake in Zenith Payments, one of Australia’s largest Payment Facilitators.
Zenith enables payments between merchants and end customers, making it easier for the merchant to receive and reconcile payments, whilst also giving the end customer flexibility in choice of payment method.
Zenith holds a market leading position across verticals including schools, childcare, rental, travel, thoroughbreds, and b2b bill payments and also has a growing presence in a number of emerging verticals.
Scentia
In May 2024 Next Capital acquired a controlling stake in Scenita, a diversified post-secondary education provider offering a range of unaccredited short courses and accredited vocational training and higher education to ~50k students (100% domestic) per year.
The business is predominantly private pay (~80%) and leverages the 83-year-old Australian Institute of Management (“AIM”) brand to provide management and leadership training to mid-career professionals seeking to upskill or change professions.
Globewest
Next Capital invested in a controlling stake in GlobeWest in March 2024, partnering with the Mendel brothers who founded the business in 2003. Headquartered in Melbourne, GlobeWest is a leading designer and supplier of premium furniture into the trade market, servicing >4,000 interior designers, architects, property stylists, developers, and high-end retailers across the country with a broad product range encompassing ~3,500 SKUs.
Alloggio
Next Capital invested a controlling stake in Alloggio in September 2023, partnering with founders Will Creedon and Karen Howard to delist the business from the ASX. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Brisbane, Alloggio is Australia’s largest operator of short-term rental accommodation. It provides both corporate and leisure travellers with accommodation via two core business divisions: Holiday Properties (which manages vacation rentals on behalf of holiday homeowners) and Mixed Accommodation (which operates mid-market motels and leisure / caravan parks).
Compare Club
Next Capital and its co-investors acquired a controlling stake in Compare Club in September 2022, partnering with existing shareholders and management. Founded in 2017, Compare Club is Australia’s leading personal finance marketplaces, offering comparison and brokerage services. It is the number 1 health insurance and life insurance broker in Australia and also sell energy, home loan and reverse mortgage products. The business is uniquely positioned in the comparator marketplace sector through its proprietary and data-driven marketing capabilities, and full-service end-to-end conversion and sales capability.
Country Care Group
Country Care Group (‘CCG’) is one of Australia’s largest suppliers of assistive living products and services. The group has a network of 50 retail stores and over 140 member locations across which it sells both own brand (K Care) and third-party products to occupational therapists, retail clients, government healthcare agencies, hospitals and aged care operators.
I worked with Next Capital for almost 4 years. Coming out of a tough period when the business was capital constrained, Next Capital provided much needed investment, guidance and assistance in helping us stabilize and build our business.
